While youth violence prevention activities can easily be included into many frameworks, one we find especially effective is the volunteer initiative, especially working with young volunteers. This method is adaptable to many situations (whether you are operating within a school, an NGO or as a self-organized group of volunteers), and brings many benefits.

There are two main questions that we want to answer:

WHY: Why work with (young) volunteers on youth violence prevention programs? What are the benefits?

HOW: How to run a volunteer initiative? We have prepared a hybrid tutorial/case study based on a specific project, but much of this can be adapted to other situations.
